The College of Medicine's Continuing Medical Education (CME) activities continue to attract national and international audiences. A total of 96 activities were reviewed this past academic year. Of those, 94 activities representing 2654 instructional hours were certified for Category 1 CME credit. Forty-eight (48) were on-going activities in clinical departments at the College of' Medicine and at our affiliated hospitals. The remaining 46 activities were episodic, or one-time, activities which were held in a variety of local, national, and international sites. In addition, 7 episodic activities were jointly sponsored with outside institutions.
Fifteen thousand, one hundred sixty-eight (15,168) physicians attended these activities. It is anticipated that with the continuing requirement of 50 hours of mandatory CME per year for physicians now the law in Illinois, these numbers will continue to grow. We hope to continue to provide high-caliber CME activities to help physicians to fulfill their educational requirements as well as to grow as professionals well.
Respectfully submitted,
Annette Yonke, Ph.D. - Chair
