Following are some applications that Jane and
some wonderful UIC students developed. Authors' names are included in the
files. Dates are given as a forewarning that the files may not work with all
versions of Excel.
Solver-DataTable, 2010. This file creates a table similar to a one-way data table with one output when each output value is obtained from applying solver. solver-datatable.xls
Normal Calculator, 2003. This file may be used to
obtain both Normal CDF and inverse Normal CDF values. Its great virtue is
that it will shade in appropriate areas under the Normal curve. normcalc.xls
Tally Sheet, 2003. This file makes tallying data
such as votes, number of pennies in pocket, roll of a die easy. It also produces
a relative frequency table and a bar chart. tally.zip
Standard Error for Single-Variable Linear Regression
Prediction, 2003. This file contains two functions created to compute
the required standard error for a confidence interval for a mean response
and for a prediction interval for an individual response. The functions use
the formulas on Page 616 of The Practice of Business Statistics by
Moore, et al. regrfn.xls
Tutorial on Performing Monte Carlo Simulation, 1998.
Requires associated help file. The contents of the zip file should be extracted
