PHYS 511 Quantum Mechanics

511. Quantum Mechanics I. 4 Hours.

Linear operators, vector spaces. Schroedinger equation. Heisenberg formalism. Multi/ identical particle systems, approximation methods, perturbation theory, symmetries and groups, conservation laws, angular momentum, spin. Wigner-Eckart theorem.

Prerequisite: Phys 412 or consent of the department.
