GUIDELINES FOR LAB/DISCUSSION:

1. Our goal is to have DISCUSSION. Your instructor will give you time for you to discuss from a set of helpful topics and questions (first among yourselves and then as a class).

2. WORK TOGETHER in mini-groups of 2 or 3. Introduce yourself to all others in your group.

3. COOPERATE with each other. If you know the answer don't immediately tell the others, instead ask leading questions to help your group in developing an answer.

4. LISTEN carefully to others and build on their ideas, make eye-contact with the person talking.

5. Make sure EVERYONE understands and PARTICIPATES.

6. COMPARE your group's answer with others. Work to UNDERSTAND why your answers are different. If one answer is "correct" what aspect or method of that answer makes it correct.

7. LEARN from your mistakes in a setting without a penalty for making that mistake.

8. Please be TOLERANT of other viewpoints and try not to bee offended if other people express opinions you consider objectionable
