photo of Stacey S. Horn Stacey Horn is an Associate Professor of Educational and Developmental Psychology in the Department of Educational Psychology and Program Director for the M.Ed. program in Youth Development at University of Illinois at Chicago. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Maryland in Human Development. Dr. Horn is interested in the development of moral and social reasoning, peer groups and intergroup relations; stereotypes, prejudice, and discrimination related to sexual orientation and gender identity. Her applied work investigates the relationships among institutional structures and adolescents' social and moral reasoning, specifically related to peer interactions, as well as developmental approaches to service-learning and diversity education. Stacey is on the Editorial Board for the Journal of Youth and Adolescence, International Journal of Behavioral Development, and the Journal of Gay and Lesbian Youth. She serves on the governing board of the Jean Piaget Society and is Chair of the Governing Board for the Illinois Safe Schools Alliance. Her research has been published in journals such as Developmental Psychology, the International Journal of Behavior and Development, Cognitive Development, and the Journal of Youth and Adolescence. She is a former high school English teacher and has worked with young people for over 20 years.
