Rob Jagers holds a joint appointment at UIC as Associate Professor in African American Studies and Psychology. He recived his Ph.D. in psychology from Howard University. His interests include African American culture; and social development, with an emphasis on morality and character formation among children and youth. His research has examined aspects of family interactions and family structure and values formation within African -American children. His work also focuses upon culturally-appropriate preventive interventions.
