Maries M. Huening is from Germany and is in her final semester as a graduate student in the Master's program for Secondary Education at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She is currently student teaching. She worked on the Discovering Educational Leadership Project, and on the Domain-Based Assessment of Social and Moral Development. Her interest lies in developing and promoting healthy ideas for the so-called character education programs in high schools. She intends to get her doctoral degree in moral and social development with a focus on adolescents.
