Qualification and Statement of Purpose

UIC/TRL's
ARTERIAL BLOCKAGE in the PETROLEUM and NATURAL GAS INDUSTRIES Project

  • The aim of this project is to alleviate the arterial blockage in the petroleum and natural gas industries caused by the heavy organics and realize economic advantages in production, transportation, and processing of asphaltenic, waxy and heavy crudes and condensates.

  • The purpose is to develop and offer state-of-the-art, predictive, efficient , and economical solutions (remedial and preventive) to oil and gas industries` heavy organic deposition problems.

  • The phrases

"HEAVY ORGANIC DEPOSITIONS (HOD) FROM PETROLEUM FLUIDS"

    and

"ARTERIAL BLOCKAGE IN THE PETROLEUM AND NATURAL GAS INDUSTRIES"

were coined in our laboratory. Extensive research and development activity during the last several years under the direction of Dr. G.A. Mansoori in the UIC/TRL has resulted in numerous publications (techn ical books and papers), numerous Computer Software , over 250 oral conference presentations, short courses , invited lectures and colloquia directly and indirectly related to heavy organic deposition from petroleum fluids. Over 65 graduate degree theses (MSc and PhD) and post-doctoral projects have been supervised at the UIC/TRL. The partial list of our publications related to HOD are listed under UIC/TRL Selected Publications .
