The Chicago Chapter of the National Black Caucus of Librarians
wishes to:
Organize the librarians in the Chicago Area for the purpose of developing an educational, professional,
political, and social organization which will assist the Black Community in achieving its potential goals.
Act as a catalyst in developing and excuting relevant library services, programs and activities relative to
informing, creating, stimulating and maintaining the Black Community's interest in libraries, and achieving self-development.
Expand the role of the Black librarians in the profession and the total community by recruiting Blacks in the field, provide
and develop means of access to educational opportunities, and sustain and support library education.
