Amplitudes of 2-knots -- with Java

We provide a set of Java classes to compute amplitudes for 2-knots. These knots are described in
J. Scott Carter and Masahico Saito, Knotted Surfaces and Their Diagrams American Mathematical Society, Providence, 1998.

This set of Java classes was written by Richard Larson and Jacob Towber. A similar C++ program written by Glenn Lancaster and Jacob Towber can be found at http://condor.depaul.edu/~glancast/2knots and at http://condor.depaul.edu/~jtowber/2knots

We provide here:

a readme file with an overview of the program and instructions for its use;
a ZIP file with the source for the Java classes (note that this is distributed under the GNU General Public License);
a ZIP file with several sample 2-knots given as Movies.
a ZIP file misc.zip with:
- all.pre: the Movie Moves -- without Movie Moves 31 -- used to generate amplitude invariants;
- allplus.pre: this is all.pre plus the Movie Moves 31;
- mm31gen.spt: the Spitbol program used to generate the Movie Moves 31 included above;
- new2old.spt: a Spitbol program used to convert new (s/f) Movie notation to the old (ESI) notation;
- old2new.spt: a Spitbol program to convert old to new Movie notation;
- ProgramA.java: the Java program used to generate the non homogeneous linear equations to solve (using Maple) for the parameters defining the amplitude;
- ProgramB.java: the program ProgramBt.java without the T_EX-writing feature;
- ProgramC.java: a program to read *.pre files to check that the values of the amplitudes are preserved.
