- Writings Memorial Edition 19v 1905 Bergh edition; download free the 5 meg zipped file to get plain text. Or purchase very convenient cd-rom edition, 18,000 pages of text, fully searchable. The Memorial edition is not as well edited as the Ford and Princeton editions (see next entry), but is more complete.
- There is no complete edition of Jefferson's writings. For the period after 1793 most scholars use Writings of Thomas Jefferson edited by Paul L. Ford in 10 volumes, 1892-99, or the Memorial Edition. Princeton University Press is slowly publishing a magnificent series of Papers of Thomas Jefferson, which now reaches to 1793.
