The Early Career Preventionist Network provides information, educational experiences, and networking opportunities for researchers, interventionists, and advocates dedicated to the science of prevention.

The Society for Prevention Research consists of scientists, practitioners and administrators committed to the improvement of prevention through empirical investigation. The focus of the society is broadly defined and concerned with the problems pertaining to the prevention of public health problems, including, but not limited to, drug and alcohol abuse, crime, and behavior disorders.

The National Association of Prevention Professionals and Advocates (NAPPA) is a non-profit membership organization that is an independent voice for prevention professionals and advocates for public policy and social norms that enhance quality of life. Through its membership, NAPPA leads, mobilizes, and empowers national, community, and individual action toward healthy human development.

Prevention First, Inc., funded through the Illinois Department of Human Services, believes that health and well-being are basic human rights which are facilitated through the highest quality training, consultation, information services and advocacy. It seeks to promote health and wellness among individuals, organizations and communities.

An Ounce of Prevention: Prevention Yellow Pages is a worldwide directory of programs, research, references and resources dedicated to the prevention of youth problems and the promotion of nurturing children.

The Congressional Prevention Coalition's mission is to increase health promotion and prevention through congressional health policies.

The Indiana Prevention Resource Center at Indiana University is a statewide clearinghouse for prevention technical assistance and information about alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs.

The Wisconsin Clearinghouse for Prevention Resources provides educational materials, catalogs, and training information. The mission of the Wisconsin Clearinghouse is to help schools, families, and communities to lead healthy, productive lives.

The AIDS Prevention Center at the University of California at San Francisco provides up-to-date information about the latest research findings and lists of HIV/AIDS-related clinical trials. This site also provides information on available resources, prevention education, and implications for social issues.

The Collaborative for the Advancement of Social and Emotional Learning (CASEL) focuses on promoting social and emotional education and development in schools by collaborating with educators, scientist, policy makers, and foundations. This website offers information on self-assessments for schools, conferences and workshops.

The UCLA Center for Mental Health in Schools is one of two national training and technical assistance centers focused on mental health in schools. Their mission is to improve outcomes for young people by enhancing policies, programs, and practices relevant to mental health in schools. The site provides information on resources, training, and technical assistance.

The Clearinghouse for Urban Education's website is presented by the ERIC Clearinghouse on Urban Education and is funded by the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Education Research and Improvement. It offers manuals, brief articles, annotated bibliographies, reviews, summaries of outstanding publications, and conference announcements in urban education.

The American Educational Research Association is concerned with improving the educational process by encouraging scholarly inquiry related to education and by promoting the dissemination and practical application of research results. This website provides information about the organization, its members, conferences, publications, grants, and job openings.

The Chronicle of Higher Education is a publication for academia. This publication contains the latest information on what is happening at universities and colleges across the country. There is also an extensive section of the website that provides employment information.

The Center for Research on At-Risk Students is committed to research activities resulting in recommendations for policies and practices to assist individuals in reaching higher levels of learning. The website focuses on current research projects, which center around one of the following: early childhood, learners with special needs, reinventing schools, migrant education, school to work, and science and mathematics.

The National Institute on the Education of At-Risk Students (At-Risk Institute) is one of five Institutes created by the Educational Research, Development, Dissemination and Improvement Act of 1994. The At-Risk Institute supports a range of research and development activities designed to improve the education of students at risk of educational failure because of limited English proficiency, poverty, race, geographic location, or economic disadvantage.

The National Network of Partnership Schools webpage focuses on bringing together schools, districts, and states that are committed to developing and maintaining comprehensive programs of school-family-community partnerships. This website provides information about the partnership program and publications.

Adolescence Directory On-Line (ADOL) is an electronic guide to information on adolescent issues. It is a service of the Center for Adolescent Studies at Indiana University for educators, counselors, parents, researchers, health practitioners, and teens to find various resources.

Partnerships Against Violence NETwork (PAVNET) is a site that give users information about techniques for combating violence in American society. It is designed to relay the latest information in the most rapid way possible--via electronic media.

National Families in Action attempts to provide accurate drug information to parents and young people. The website includes information about available resources, catalogs, and cultural issues.

The Office of Juvenile Justice & Delinquency (OJJDP) incorporates two principal components: preventing youth from becoming delinquent by focusing prevention programs on at-risk youth and improving the juvenile justice system response to delinquent offenders through a system of graduated sanctions and a continuum of treatment alternatives. This site provides information on conferences, training, funding, and publications.

Resiliency in Action is a journal whose purpose is to spread the news of resiliency through sharing research and facilitating the practical application and evaluation of the resiliency paradigm.

The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) website provides organizational information on NIMH, as well as links to the National Institute of Health (NIH) and other institutes and offices within NIH. This site also provides information on grants (i.e., guidelines, deadlines, etc.) that are available through the organization.

This is the homepage for the American Psychological Association.

The American Psychological Society promotes the advancement of the science of psychology through research, education, and the free dissemination of psychological knowledge. This site also provides an employment bulletin and federal funding information.
