INTRODUCTIONS TO THE WEB

The Planet Earth Home Page
has a list of different introductions to the web. Click around to see which one makes the most sense to you.

A World-Wide Web FAQ
is available. On the Internet, "FAQ" means a list of Frequently Asked Questions. Never email someone with questions of your own until you've looked at the FAQ!

Communities On-Line
is an extensive and easy-to-navigate article by Anne Beamish. A great introduction to present electronic communities and potential ones.

Create Your Own Web Pages
with the help of these HTML guides. Find which one suits you and you're off...

If you're using Netscape, there is a very gentle Netscape-oriented introduction to the Internet as a whole that you may want to check out.

SEARCH THE WEB

Lycos
is one of the most sophisticated and comprehensive search engines. If your browser doesn't support forms (if you're using Netscape don't worry about this) click here.

CUSI
allows you to search many databases using just one interface.

Yahoo
is probably the most popular Internet directory. Pages from around the world are arranged by topic.

And of course if you're using Netscape, you can press those directory buttons underneath the toolbar for on-line info....
