The Gothics and the Jocks:  The Influence of Social Identity and Group Status on Adolescents’ Reasoning about intergroup relations and the treatment of others
Principle Investigator Stacey S. Horn

The goal of this research is to investigate how adolescents make judgements about intergroup relations and the treatment of others based on their social reference group (“Gothic” “Jock”) membership.  Additionally, this research is designed to determine the influence that reference group status and the adolescents own social identity have on their social reasoning.
